National Center Against Violence (NCAV)

“A human life free from violence”

The National Center Against Violence (NCAV) is the first NGO in Mongolia to focus on the issue of violence against women and children. The organization was established on June 15, 1995 at the initiative of the Liberal Womens Brain Pool, the Womens Movement for Social Progress, and the Women Lawyers Association of Mongolia. Since its inception NCAV has established 16 local branches at the national level.

The main goal of NCAV is to contribute to the development of a nationwide institutional structure to combat domestic violence and sexual abuse against women and children. We advocate for change through:

- Raising public awareness and trying to alter the social mindset, beliefs, and values in a manner that will not tolerate domestic violence.
- Building a legal framework that is capable of addressing, preventing and eliminating violence.
- Developing a comprehensive social system that supports women in overcoming the consequences of violence.
