White Ribbon Campaign -it organizes among men and boys calling them to end and prevent from gender based violence

“Voice Box” Television Episode: Mongolian National Broadcasting (MNB) will run a special episode of the English language show “Voice Box”. The episode will focus on domestic violence in Mongolia and on the 16 Days campaign and will air at 18:15 on MNB.


November 25

16 Days Press Conference: The campaign launches with a press conference to raise awareness about campaign events and about the problem of domestic violence in Mongolia. Press kits including information on domestic violence, samples of the postcard campaign (see below), white ribbons and more will be distributed to journalists.

International Day for the Elimination of all forms of Violence Against Women

Official First Day of the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender Violence

Launch of the White Ribbon and Postcard campaigns.

TV Commercials "Calling men to end gender based violence" and "Domestic Violence" through Street Screens and TV channels to improve public awareness during the campaign.



November 25 – December 10

White Ribbon Campaign: Ribbons and information will be distributed to men to encourage them to take a personal stance against violence against women and to raise public awareness about domestic violence. Journalists, politicians, policemen, and many more, will be asked to wear the ribbon and in so doing to make a personal pledge to never commit, condone, or remain silent about violence against women and children. The ribbons will also be distributed with an informational flyer and the campaign will be advertised through newspapers, billboards, and TV and radio programs.



White Ribbon Commercial: A commercial was produced and will air over the course of the 16 Days campaign.  The commercial encourages men to take a stance against domestic violence and will promote the White Ribbon campaign.

Women Human Rights Defenders Documentary
: Over the course of the campaign footage was shot to be used in an upcoming short documentary about Mongolian Women’s Human Rights defenders. The film pays tribute to their work, set an example for young women, and educate the public about Human Rights and domestic violence. It is widely distributed and serve as a useful tool for  annual campaign.

International Women Human Rights Defenders Day

NCAV will distribute information and pamphlets pertaining to Human Rights and the work of Women Human Rights Defenders in Mongolia.

World Aids Day

NCAV supports World Aids Day activities and raise awareness about the connection between sexual violence and HIV/AIDS.


The Red Cross in Mongolia is organizes a World Aids Day event focusing on prevention strategies and targeting youth.

The Mongolian Children’s Rights Association organizes an Aids education program for disabled children with a focus on prevention.

Human Rights Day


The campaign is close with a large Human Rights Day event under the auspices of the government of Mongolia and the United Nations Development Program (UNDP). There was a full day of indoor and outdoor speeches, live music, and educational entertainment. The 16 Days campaign use sthis opportunity to wrap up the white ribbon and postcard campaigns, to provide information about human rights and women
s rights, and to close the campaign on a positive note in collaboration with many other human rights organizations.
